Doing it Greek style: Three Ways to Jazz Up Yoghurt
Making the transition from a ‘stuffing-my-face-with-anything’ diet to a healthy lifestyle can get difficult along the way. However, it’s made me explore different flavours and ingredients to make this new lifestyle much more enjoyable and delicious. For many of us working in offices, the temptation is always there to grab a bag of crisps or chips as the Americans say) or a chocolate bar, however, I’ve discovered my new love of Greek yoghurt and I have found a few ways to create much more exciting combinations right in my office kitchen at work.Hope you enjoy !Essie Eats x
One: The Nutella Crumble
INGREDIENTS
- Nutella
- 2 / 3 Brazilian nuts
- Crushed Stroopwaffles or any cookies / biscuits you prefer
This is a naughty treat, but to be honest you could be having ice-cream which is worse, so don’t feel too bad.For this recipe, simply put in two hefty table spoons of natural yoghurt, crush the Brazilian nuts and sprinkle. Now add a dash of Nutella, and finish it off by crumbling in the cookies.(Tip: if you’re in the office, just crush the nuts with a plate on a flat surface).
Two: The Lychee & Strawberry refresher
INGREDIENTS
- 3 lychees
- 2 strawberries
Dice the strawberries and lychees, put a layer at the bottom, in a small bowl. Top with some yogurt, then add another layer of fruit. then sprinkle with some honey.
Three: Summer Berry delight
INGREDIENTS
- 2 strawberries
- A handful of blueberries
- Drizzle of honey
- Coconut Greek style yoghurt
Add the yoghurt first, then throw on some diced strawberries and the blueberries. Then drizzle with some honey. SimpleRecommendation: My favourite coconut yoghurts are Rachel’s Organic Coconut Greek Style Yoghurt (£2.10) – you can buy it at Sainsburys. Another great and cheaper alternative is Lidl’s Milbona Greek Style Coconut Yogurt . It's a great alternative, it’s just as thick in consistency, and for those of you with a sweet tooth, its slightly sweeter (0.54p).
